Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward. (Qur'an 57:11)

Economic Recovery Programs
Brick Factory
The support needed by the affected people in Yogyakarta is not limited to the provision shelters. The earthquake had also seriously damaged the livelihoods system of the community. The biggest one was the economic losses due to the lost of economic assets, capital, or equipments, affecting mostly to people working in informal economy sector. As one of the economic recovery programmes of Muslim Aid Yogyakarta, Muslim Aid Yogyakarta conducts the building of cottage brick factory in Bantul which had been the centre of brick industry in Yogyakarta before the earthquake. The consideration of this policy is:
- To restore the livelihood system of the surrounding local community through actively involving them in the production and marketing process. It is planned that each brick factory will involve 10 households at the minimum.
- To produce and provide the bricks with good quality and at a controlled reasonable price. With the increasing demand of bricks for building houses in all affected areas, the price of brick is rising high beyond the reach of community. Muslim Aid brick factory is aimed to keep the availability of bricks for the people in low economic level though the contribution is still insignificant to the whole community.
